Veerappa Moiley Equates Saints With the Failure – UPA Cabinet Minister has done it again!

“A few top officials who could have made a difference in office…having failed to do so, become saints after retirement. When I was abroad recently, I came across the comments of a retired bureaucrat who said in a media interview that every third Indian is corrupt,” Mr Veerappa Moily, the law minister in the Manmohan-Sonia’s UPA government is reported to have said on the 13th of September, 2010. He urged the department of personnel and training to look into such “frustrated statements” made by former civil servants.

It seems the current Indian National Congress-led UPA Coalition ministers have developed a penchant and propensity for trying to portray the saintly community, especially the Hindu saints and the Hindu community in bad light.

Not far back, P Chidambaram, the union home minister, had shown his deep subliminal hatred for the Hindu community by having tried to portray the acts of violence by a few misguided elements of the Hindu community as the SAFFRON TERROR, thereby causing the political storm across the length and breadth of the Hindu-dominated Bhaarata [India]. The colour saffron is associated deeply with the Indian spiritual ethos, the Hindu way of life and especially the Indian Saints/Reshhes besides having been recently in history associated with the Indian national flag, the Tiranga or the Tricolour.

Now, comes another unmistakable sign of hatred for the saintly community and by extension for the Hnidu community by Mr Veerappa Moiley. Mr Veerappa Moiley seems to mean that the bureaucrats who fail become the saints later! Conversely, this logic implies that those who are the saints, especially the Hindu saints are the people who have earlier failed as bureaucrats! This logic is utterly nonsense and grave insult to all the saints/reshhes and by extension to all the communities including the Hindu community.

Although Mr Veerappa Moiley as a citizen is free to air his views even if these views are nonsense yet Mr Veerappa Moiley would do well to remind his own self that he himself is a law minister who ought to be aware of the legal implications of what he himself is blurting out!

To put the record straight, Mr Pratyush Sinha, who retired recently as India’s Central Vigilance Commissioner, had recently remarked that one-thirds of Indians were “utterly corrupt” and half were “borderline”. Mr Pratyush Sinha clearly meant that still the remaining nearly 17% Indians were totally non-corrupt.

UNLIKE Mr Veerappa Moiley WHO HAS GENERALISED WRONGLY TO DUB ALL THE SAINTS AS BEING THOSE WHO HAVE EARLIER FAILED AS BUREAUCRTAS, Mr Pratyush Sinha HAS NOT GENERALISED TO SAY THAT EACH AND EVERY INDIAN IS CORRUPT!

Mr Veerappa Moiley has demanded an apology from the official to the nation. In effect, Mr Veerappa Moiley is trying to be in a self-denial mode about a national shame about which each of us Indians knows and even the outside world knows full well. What would Mr Veerappa Moiley like us to believe about the recent Common Wealth Games Mahaaghotaalaa - Some corrupt Indians need not be termed corrupt because these corrupt ones happen to be a part of the Mahaacorrupt government-bureaucrats-contractors/BROKERS/FIXERS' nexus blessed by the ruling Indian government of the day?

What difference can a non-corrupt efficient bureaucrat make in an environment where majority of the colleagues, juniors, superiors are thoroughly corrupt and political masters themselves are a part of the whole corruption-ring and not ready to support such clean officials? I have seen closely the horrible corrupt functioning of the Indian Customs and Central Excise Department. While I was working as an inspector in the same department, one very senior Indian Revenue Service officer [who had earlier worked in the Research and Analysis Wing called the RAW of the Indian Government] in the Anti-Smuggling and Preventive Wing of the Indian Customs Department in Pune had once confided in me the fact that the money is the ONLY language that speaks in Customs and Central Excise department and not the non-corrupt, wise and efficient administration of the rules! Recently, I was told by one official from the same department that the situation in the department has now gone from bad to the extreme worse!

Just because I couldn’t get justice from the CALLOUS, CRIMINALISED, INSENSITIVE, UNPATRIOTIC, CORRRUPT Indian Customs and Central Excise Department in the bold silver seizure worth Rupees 2.5 crore effected by me in Jan, 1991, Mr Veerappa Moiley means to say that I as a junior level bureaucrat had failed?

It seems now that going by Mr Veerappa Moiley’s definition of the success for bureaucrats, I too would have been a successful junior level bureaucrat if I too had connived with my SUPERIORS, seniors, juniors and colleagues and made illegal money running into crores by letting the smugglers land contraband goods, by extorting money from the poor fisher-people in coastal areas and owners, directors, Customs/Excise In charge- employees of the manufacturing units and others,THEREBY ENSURING THAT MY SUPERIORS WERE PLEASED SO THAT THEY WOULD READILY GET ME A PRESIDENT's MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE OR GALLANTRY BESIDES AN EXCELLENT ANNUAL CONFIDENTIAL REPORT AND MONEY-SPINNING SO-CALLED PRIZE POSTINGS……………………!

Mr Veerappa Moiley what about the non-corrupt credentials of your own UPA Ministers? Does Mr Veerappa Moiley have guts to get himself and his own cabinet colleagues be put to the Live Nationally Televised Narco-Test to let us Indians confirm whether Mr Veerappa Moiley and his colleagues are non-corrupt or not? It seems the concerned official did not make a frustrated statement. Rather, it seems now clearly that it is Mr Veerappa Moiley and similar UPA ministers who actually are now busy making “frustrated statements” by trying crudely to humiliate/embarrass the saints, especially the Hindu ones, indirectly thereby trying to demonize the majority Hindu community.

Mr Veerappa Moiley would do well to take back his own wrong words the words that have equated the saints with the so-called failed bureaucrats…! INSTEAD, IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR Mr Veerappa Moiley to try to SEEK BLESSINGS OF THE INDIAN TRUE SAINTS BY BEING HUMBLE BEFORE THE INDIAN TRUE SAINTS..........................................!
