Are Swami Agnivesh's, Human Rights Activist's Remarks about P Chidambaram Defamatory?

“…....I could make out he [P Chidambaram] was trying to defend the indefensible. He said he wasn't aware of the encounter till it happened. I find that [P Chidambaram's claim about not aware of encounter till it happened] difficult to believe........” Swami Agnivesh Jee was reported to have said in connection with the fake-killing of Azad, the spokesperson of the CPI(Maoist) in a fake encounter by the Andhra Pradesh police.

Why is P Chidambaram, the Home minister of India, finding defamatory the remarks by Swami Agnivesh Jee?

P Chidambaram, the Home minister of India, himself being a lawyer must know [as shown below] that there is nothing like DEFAMATORY in Swami Agnivesh Jee’s remarks:

1. Swami Agnivesh Jee has nowhere said emphatically that “P Chidambaram, the Home minister of India, was aware of the killing of Azad, the spokesperson of the CPI (Maoist)”.

2. “I find that difficult to believe” remark by Swami Agnivesh Jee merely suggests that Swami Agnivesh Jee was not sure of whether P Chidambaram, the Home minister of India, knew in advance about Azad’s killing or not. So, Swami Agnivesh Jee has, going by circumstantial evidence that has been thrown up in terms of the media reports and Maoists’ version, cast legitimate doubts about whether P Chidambaram, the Home minister of India, knew in advance about Azad’s killing or not.

3. The whole of India knows that it was the bounden duty of P Chidambaram to ensure the best coordination between Andhra Pradesh government and the Indian Home ministry which meant inter alia that the Andhra Pradesh state government would not take any action pertaining to Naxals without full consultation with the Indian Home Ministry, since the Naxal/Maoist issue is a national issue having the all India ramifications. So, it is but fairly natural to suspect that P Chidambaram must have been in the full knowledge of what the Andhra Pradesh state government was busy doing on the Naxal issue, including the would-be-fake-killing of Azad in a fake encounter!

4. P Chidambaram must not expect the human rights workers to give him [P Chidambaram] the character certificate without having the human rights workers first got all the related doubts cleared beyond all doubts.

Now, it is the moral and legal duty of P Chidambaram, being himself the Home minister of India to clear doubts, about whether he [P Chidambaram] himself knew in advance about Azad’s killing or not, by getting the killing of Azad in a fake encounter by the Andhra Pradesh police inquired into by a judicial inquiry.

P Chidambaram cannot wash his own hands off by saying that only the Andhra Pradesh state government can get the instant incident inquired into through a judicial enquiry, as the incident had taken place in [the geographical/administrative area of] Andhra Pradesh. Certainly, the ministers in the government of India are more powerful than Mussolini of Italy. Mussolini is famously said to have often remarked that he [Mussolini] was not having any power and that his [Mussolini] officials had more power than he himself had, contrary to the popular public-perception. Further, Mussolini said that all the power that he [Mussolini] had was over his own horse who [the horse] would turn left on being commanded to turn to the left and would turn right on being commanded to turn to the right!

P Chidambaram can get a judicial inquiry instituted, in his own capacity as the Home minister of India, in the fake killing of Azad. Well, if P Chidambaram still insists that he [P Chidambaram] does not have powers to do so, then it would be concluded that P Chidambaram either does not know how to use powers vested in the Indian home ministry office under the present UPA/Congress government, to run the home affairs of India or is unwilling to do so and as such it would be proper for P Chidambaram to resign from the post of the Home Minister of India, paving the way for some other better efficient candidate so that we Indians are spared chaos in this country and so that the peace prevailed in India in the supreme national interests of India and the world.
